#togtuesday 9/28

29 Sep

This week @thetrudz asked photographers to share their favorite travel images as well as any other photo they wished to contribute to #togtuesday on Twitter.

I decided to keep it local, and share a picture I did while playing tourist in my own city one afternoon (which if you’ve never done, I highly recommend… great way to see your everyday surroundings with fresh eyes). One thing I do love about this place is it is full of some beautiful churches. I’m a sucker for some great architecture. What made this shot though was more about the sky…

church, photography, sky, blue, architecture, buildings

@dmarieontwitt tweeted this image from someone followed on Facebook and commented on the beautiful texture. I couldn’t agree more! I love this image because I feel like I could reach out and touch it.

@TiffAsheTweet tweeted this gorgeous Paris street scene that makes you feel like you’re right there watching the people pass by.

@thetrudz shared one of her own favorites and I can see why it is, it has so much personality!

@LensArtwork showed us that creepy abandoned toys can be aesthetically pleasing and showed us what would happen if vacuums decided they were tired of sucking (pun intended, har) and decided to fight back.

@raymour shared “They Keyhole by Rodrigo Marin. Click! The perspective is beautiful.

@ssorensenphoto shared her image of Quiet Morning on the Water in Croatia. I love that you can feel the stillness in this image. And I love the capture of water meeting sky.

@bbui’s image is proof enough for me that lighting can make a shot.

@pabloconrad tweeted this image that I fell in love with. Something about the warmness of the sunrise(or sunset?) and the coolness of the earth really works for me.

@1morespoon proved that symmetry in photography does not have to be boring with this image. And the part of me that adores balance adores this.  Also tweeted was The King which is a must click, absolutely beautiful and majestic. And finally Train Stop #5 which invites you to begin writing a story in your head.

@draekko tweeted Midnight Passengers, and image I find calming yet haunting at the same time.

#togtuesday 9/21

24 Sep

Meant to get my faves up from #togtuesday early Wednesday, but well life happens I suppose.

I must express that I am always so amazed by the images that get posted on this day, they are all stunning in their own ways.  And following photographers on Twitter (finally, I had no idea where to find you guys for a while lol) has exposed me to amazing images every day!

This is the first week I got to computer while it was still Tuesday and shared one of my favorite images I have done:

newborn photography, black & white, photography

This was *the* shot that I wanted to get when my nephew was born last year.  I achieved it.  More difficult than you would think, babies flail… a lot.  No better feeling though than opening up the pics for post processing and seeing it there, realizing I had got it despite the rush to get it done before he flung mommy & daddy’s wedding bands across the room.

Now on to some of my favorite images from around Twitter on this #togtuesday!

@eyejewels shared this image from Pup Aid 2010 of a very happy looking dog and proud owner. I love the emotion expressed in this, from both dog and owner and the perspective.

@mauiphotofest tweeted this image by wedding photographer Natalie Brown and congratulated her on her win.

@elbirth tweeted a unique and beautiful image that just makes you want to look twice and then look again.

@raymour shared this beautiful ethereal image by Alexey Zhaleika entitled “Flights”.

@nirajpatelphoto tweeted a stunning view of Machu Picchu as well as a beautiful frozen Chicago skyline.

@1morespoon tweeted this beautiful portrait Asiko on Shutterchance and these  gripping soulful eyes by @alakija.

Several tweeted this make yah smile macro image by Dutch photographer Leon Baas.

Next is a gorgeous self portrait from @TiffAsheTweet.

@bbui showed us a bench with a view and made me wish I was there.

And last but not least what caught my eye this week… @eventexposures tweeted a macro image with amazing color.

Thanks for all the images this week guys, it makes me look forward to Tuesdays!

Trudy at Tru Shots Photography Blog came up with the brilliant ideas to give photographers a space on Twitter by introducing #togtuesday. This is the third week and it looks to be catching on. It gives photographers on Twitter a chance to share their favorite images, either ones they have taken or favorites by other photographers. It is so refreshing to see so many beautiful images shared every Tuesday!

I’ve decided to link back to my personal faves that were shared by others on #togtuesday to give others a chance to see them too. In the interest of copyrights, I am only providing a link =)

@raymour shared three beautiful images that caught my eye:   Spring by Piotr Krol PoiPoi by Bogdan Pedovich, and Deedee by King Douglas. PoiPoi just really amazes me. Early when I first started looking for various people to photograph I ran across a fire dancer looking for some images. I happily obliged but at the time I had no idea the power to be able to capture images like PoiPoi. I only hope to have the opportunity to do so again one day!

@zoozees shared this beautiful and serene landscape.

@draekko showed HDR done right to create an inspiring moody photograph of a busted television set entitled Stare Into the Light. My commentary of “done right” I suppose shows that I normally have a dislike of many HDR photographs (it often feels so overdone or used for the wrong things to me) but when it is done right, I love the mood it can create for a photograph.

@Lisawalsh shared this this must see image entitled Watching. Sets the fall/Halloween-y mood perfectly!

@PictureYourLife shared Fun in the Water at Dundas Square. I love that you can feel the thrill of child running through those fountains.

@libberding shared this beautiful backlit image.

@CelticCamera tweeted this beautiful moody silhouette with a hint of movement by @chromasia as well as this image that will never allow you to look at your toilet the same way again, entitled Bio Shock.

@CarmenSisson tweeted this yummy image entitled Key Lime Explosion. I love the way the colors complement one another in this pic, and how refreshing everything looks!

@ssorensenphoto shared this adorable maternity photo. The dog definitely makes the shot something special than your typical pregnancy silhouette photo.

@1morespoon shared this image which captured my attention by it’s excellent use of color.

@LensArtwork shared this stunning shot of the Milky Way galaxy by @strobist.

Can’t wait to see what is tweeted next week!  Once again thanks to @thetrudz for this wonderful idea that has got photographers sharing images on Twitter.
